Casa Oddie Bed and Breakfast
Moira and Steve look forward to welcoming you to their home which is a 6 minute drive from the historical city of Tortosa. We are well situated for visiting many historic and interesting places, like Miravet and Peniscola which are both Knights' Templar castles. We are a 30 minute drive from some lovely sandy beaches and busy little coastal towns and we are 20 minutes from the Ebro Delta, which is very popular with cyclists and bird watchers alike. there is also a rice museum to show how the rice is grown there. For the more professional cyclists we are on the road to Mont Caro which is 1,447 metres above sea level and where the Spanish cycling teams do their training. You can also drive up the mountain where there is a beautiful restaurant halfway up and at the top there are wonderful views of the estuary and the Ebro river. On the mountains there are ibis and many birds of prey. On the very top is a weather station.
Our prices are very competitive with bed and breakfast only 25 euros per person per night with reductions for the under 10's. We do a genuiine English breakfast. We have the bacon, sausage and hash browns shipped over from England and we use Heinz baked beans. You can have packed lunches on request at 8 euros each with chilled water. We are happy to prepare evening meals on request at 12 euros each and that includes wine or beer. again, children under 10 will always get a reduction.
If you fancy some catfishing, we have a 17foot Del Quay boat with guide. We charge 120 euros for an eight hour day fishing with all tackle, live bait and dead baits provided. the biggest fish caught from the boat is a 152 lb catfish. The Ebro is a breathtaking river. we fish up to 5 days out of any 7. (Please note, we take a maximum of 3 guests for comfort and safety.) We launch at amposta and we carry a first aid kit and life jackets. If you are a keen walker, there are lots of splendid walks. This is a very beautiful part of Spain that still has the old white-washed villages perched on mountain sides and it is as yet fairly unspoilt by tourism. Why not come just for a look around? Who knows, you might decide to stay. A hire car is a must to get the most out of your holiday.
