Located in the foothills of the Sierra Cardo mountain range, overlooking ther river plain below and with views across to the Els Ports natural park,this new property will be available shortly. It is situated only 200m from Casa Libelula in its own 1.3 hectare of olive grove.

Located in the neighbouring parcela to Casa Libelula, the owners are currently building a beautiful, underground (yes, underground!) 2 bedroom self-catering accommodation. It will have a fully fitted kitchen, a modern shower room, 2 bedrooms and living/dining area. One bedroom is double, the other has twin beds which can be converted to a double.

Nestled under a century old olive tree, it is a domed structure set back into a tall terrace with a large atrium in the centre. Every room has a light well to bring in natural day light and there are 3 huge arched floor to ceiling glass doorways in the living, kitchen and dining area.

The owners can offer their single estate extra virgin olive oil and table olives from the land to any guests and will make up hampers of local produce, home made marmalade and traditional Catalan alioli on request.

The terrain here is very rocky, with lots of wild grasses and hundreds of wild alpine daffodils, cerise pink gladioli and asphodelus in the spring. Also in spring, the red soil fuels the profusion of almond blossom on the trees below this land.

The cottage is situated just a 10 minute drive from the River Ebro and from the village of Tivenys. Tivenys has 3 bars plus 2 that open during the summer months, 2 small convenience stores, 2 bakeries, a good butcher and a fantastic vegetable store with fresh local produce. There is also a good Brasserie that serves good, locally sourced food with flair. A Park is situated just by the river, with a newly built swimmin pool, cool seating areas and play areas for young children. The Feria has just opened an information centre for visitors and locals alike who are interested in the town's local history.

The city of Tortosa is a short drive from Tivenys.

Prices for 2012

715 euros per week

Price is per week, which covers all towels/linens and cleaning costs. It is fully equipped with all the utensils needed for a comfortable stay.
