Nature and Wildlife |
Fishing |

From the Delta to the valley of the River Ebro to the mountain ranges around, there is a wealth of flora and fauna to be discovered.
The Delta is an amazing area which is the most important wetland area on the Mediterranean coast. It is rich in flora and fauna. Water birds are abundant here and with its towns, sandy, unspoilt beaches and lagoons it provides an unforgettable experience. Perfect for cycling (it has no hills!)
For birdlovers, every season brings a breath-taking number of birds to be seen. In the garden of Casa Ribera we have seen: Bonelli's Eagle (these nest upriver), nightingales, golden orioles, red-necked nightjar, osprey, woodpeckers, Sardinian warblers amongst many others. The Scops owl provides a regular night-time serenade and hoopoes are very regular visitors. For an idea of the birds that can be seen around here, have a look at our birdwatching diary and for a list of the birds it is possible to see in the region, click here
